Terms of Use — Fine Print News

Last updated: [DATE]. Draft: have it reviewed before public launch.

  1. What this is. Fine Print News summarizes official public information from the Government of Canada, Elections Canada, provincial governments (starting with British Columbia) and provincial elections agencies, and offers questions to help you think it through.
  1. Not official, not affiliated. Fine Print News is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or speaking for any government, elections agency, political party or candidate.
  1. Check the source. Every story links to the original, and the original is the authoritative version. We work hard to be accurate, but summaries can contain errors or go out of date. Don't rely on the app alone for decisions about voting, legal, financial, health or safety matters.
  1. Questions, not answers. The "What's missing?" cards and questions offer perspectives to consider. They are not our opinions or endorsements of any position.
  1. Our content. The app's design, code, written summaries, questions and the Fine Print News name and logo belong to us. You may share links to the app and quote short excerpts with credit. See LICENSE.txt.
  1. Your notes. Anything you type stays on your device. See the Privacy Policy.
  1. Corrections. Report errors to [contact email]. Corrections are published in a public log.
  1. No warranty. The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from its use.
  1. Changes. We may update these terms. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.
  1. Law. These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
